Scouts may progress through 7 ranks and earn up to 140 Merit badges

Click on each rank image to be taken to the current rank requirements.  These forms are also found in your scout handbook and should be brought to scoutmaster conferences and board of reviews.  
How to rank advance.
  • Attend scout meetings.  Bring your handbook.  Participate in the activities and have the scoutmaster or assistant scoutmasters sign off your requirements.
  • In addition to paper records, scoutbook is a valuable online and app-based tool to keep track of progress.  
  • When you complete all the requirements, schedule a scoutmaster conference.  Email scoutmaster@bsa168.org to schedule.  Make sure to copy (cc) a parent or other adult on all your scouting emails.  
  • Following your scoutmaster conference, email advancement@bsa168.org to schedule a board of review.  Make sure to copy (cc) a parent or other adult on all your scouting emails.  Attend your board of review.  Come prepared with your scouting handbook checklist (physical, printed or digital) and all needed documentation.  ​
  • Attend a court of honor and receive your rank advancement patch and recognition.
