Camping Policy for Adults

Policy is intentionally designed to make sure scouters are trained.  We invite new dads to first campout with their boys and to Camporee.  Fall is when the policy has an affect.  We want scouters to become a campmaster or grubmaster.  Some campouts are more involved than others.  We have plenty of jobs for campouts.  Some dads have to camp with kids that have issues.  We don’t want dads to show up with no job and that don’t know our policy.  We need dads trained in guns, rock climbing, archery, etc.  Our goal is to simplify what we are doing and get it back to where the boys are running it.  SPL should just have to deal with Scoutmaster and not 10 adults.  On 27th, we will go over practical application of Campmaster and grubmaster policy.  We camp once a month.  Campmaster is to make it bigger than life.

Scoutmaster Report – Dave Lackey

Dave emphasized coming up with camping ideas for next year.  We will have boards of review every month in the fall.  Scout responsible for asking for Scoutmaster conference.  He must ask Dave.  We are working on progress for older scouts (15, 16, 17) so they have more high adventure on quarterly basis.  Trying to bring email communications down to once a month in the fall.  Every Kimball Clean up will have adult training.  Dietz Froehlich is now an Assistant Scoutmaster.  David White is now a Jr. ASM who will assist with the younger scouts.

Committee Chairman – Frank Wagnon

We will discuss positions on Committee at various Troop Committee meetings (i.e. Irene – Transportation) to give a greater appreciation for what each does.  Boards of Review – we will have trained adults on Boards.  Dietz will provide Jamboree deadlines.  We want to be sure we give back on our campouts with service to the camp.  Also we want great campfires.
